For most young people their sexual identities are primarily shaped by interaction with the same-sex peers which easily leads to misunderstandings and difficulties in communicating issues about sexuality with the opposite sex. These individual programme attenders, or drop-outs from the national programmes, seem to have a higher risk behaviour compared to young people attending a theoretical or vocational programme at upper secondary school level.
